Culture Shock, is currently in its earliest stage. The plan as of November 1996, is to create the piece for Internet enhanced CD-ROM. The finished work will incorporate multimedia technology, HTML, and VRML in a custom designed interface, which I hope will be generated with Microsoft's Visual Basic Four annd Macromedia's Director, or some combination of these. (Suggestions about media are very welcome.)

The dissertation itself will research a broad range of hypermedia events and theatrical collaborations. I am specifically searching for information about the creative processes of theatre artists who are experimenting with hypermedia technologies. Theatre artists like Charles Deemer, are already working in media which were directly inspired by and would not be possible without hypermedia technology. These artists are reshaping our stage and my dissertation must employ the technology which spawned them in order to explain them.
