Description:
I'm a senior at Amherst College working on an honors thesis.
I've been writing my thesis in an electronic journal which I've posted in the thesis section of my homepage.
I'm interested in e-zines, hypertexts, collaborative projects and non-electronic hard texts which seem influenced by (or perhaps might themselves influence) hyperprojects.
I will probably print out a fairly linear hard copy of my thesis at some point to make the English dept. here somewhat happy -- but then again I may not since I'm composing it html for the cyber community.
It's a scattered project in many ways -- I don't believe an undergraduate should necessarily have to prove any huge argument in apx. 80 pages. I do expect, however, that a couple of ideas and discoveries will assert themselves in my journal entries, which read as a whole forms a kind of "thesis".
I'm just trying to learn as much as possible (and educate the Amherst English Dept. a little) about this exciting new interactive medium.
I'm also hoping to amuse my readers. It's really important to me "keep it real". I figure if my journal is interesting to me, it is more likely to interest my audience.
