His grave marker reads: WILLIAM F. BRAND Born Aug 31, 1840 Died May 28, 1932 He tried to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with his God. |
 View of W.F. Brand's grave | At the time of his death, W.F. Brand was an Elder at the Tinkling Spring Church in Fishersville, Virginia. A note of gratitude was placed in the Church records regarding his service as a Church Elder, the text of which reads: "The Session of the Tinkling Spring Church desires to record its gratitude to Almighty God for the long life and useful service of its senior Elder, W.F. Brand who departed this life May 28, 1932. Mr. Brand was elected to the eldership March 22, 1896 and gave many valuable service until incapacitated by the infirmities of old age. He died at the age of niney-two and for thirty-six years was an honored Elder of this church. Be it resolved that this note be recorded in our minutes, and a copy sent to the family." |
