Henry William Herbert was born in London, and moved to the U.S. in 1830. His works of historical fiction include The Brothers, a Tale of the Fronde, Cromwell, and Marmaduke Wyril. Herbert also wrote works on European and classical history. Writing under the pseudonym Frank Forester, he took up the subject of sport (hunting, fishing, horsemanship, etc.).
